Your Loomed Cotton Guide
What is loomed cotton?
Loomed cotton is fabric woven on a loom from cotton yarn, rather than knitted like a T-shirt. Weaving gives it more structure and airflow, and our loomed cotton has a natural slub texture: small, uneven ridges that are a signature of natural fibres.
Where is your loomed cotton made?
Our cotton is woven in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal, almost next door to where it’s dyed and stitched. Keeping everything close cuts our transport footprint and keeps more work in local communities.
Is loomed cotton good for hot weather?
Yes. The woven structure lets air move through the fabric, so it stays breathable on hot days. For summer, try our shorts or wide leg pants.
Loomed cotton or organic cotton: which should I choose?
Both are natural, breathable and dyed with low-impact dyes. Loomed cotton is woven locally in Nepal and has a textured, slightly structured feel. Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides and has a smoother, softer drape. Browse our organic cotton collection to compare.
How do I care for loomed cotton?
Machine wash cold, with like colours at first, since low-impact dyes release a little colour in early washes. Always dry in the shade to keep colours rich, and avoid hot water. Every piece is pre-washed before it reaches you. See our full garment care guide.
