What is corduroy?
Corduroy is a woven fabric with distinctive raised cords, called wales, running along its surface. Extra pile yarns are woven into the base fabric, then cut and brushed into a soft, velvety rib. So corduroy isn’t a fibre, it’s a weave, and the result is a warm, sturdy fabric that’s perfect for cooler seasons.

What is corduroy made from?
Corduroy is usually cotton, sometimes blended with synthetic fibres for stretch or sheen. Ours is made from cotton fibre only, so it’s soft, comfortable and breathable.
Which corduroy piece should I choose?
- Corduroy Overalls: full length, with adjustable coconut-button straps and 4 pockets. S–M, M–L and L–XL.
- Corduroy Pants: relaxed wide leg palazzo pants at 7/8 length, with an elastic waist and hip pockets. S–M, M–L and L–XL.
- Corduroy Pinafore: a relaxed A-line with adjustable straps, side buttons and 5 pockets. S–XXL.
- Corduroy Maxi Skirt: a streamlined A-line at 7/8 length, with belt loops, pockets and ankle splits. S–XXL.
Is corduroy warm?
Yes. Corduroy’s soft ribbed texture traps warmth, so it’s ideal for cooler months. Layer it over one of our long sleeve tops with tights or boots underneath.
What is the main difference between corduroy and regular cotton?
Corduroy is heavier and velvety to the touch, and its wales help it hold its shape, which makes it ideal for cooler-weather pieces. Our loomed cotton is lighter, with an earthy texture and a soft, natural drape, so it’s cooler to wear when it’s warm.
What sizes does your corduroy come in?
The Overalls and Pants come in relaxed S–M, M–L and L–XL sizes. The Pinafore and Maxi Skirt come in S–XXL. See our size charts for measurements.
How do I care for corduroy?
Machine wash cold, inside out, with like colours, and dry in the shade. Avoid hot water, and don’t iron directly on the ribbed side. See our garment care guide.
