A Day in Patan Durbar Square
We recently completed another little big photoshoot in Kathmandu, and this time it was in Patan - one of the three ancient 'cities' within the Kathmandu Valley.
Originally there were three separate adjacent cities within the Valley; Patan, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu. In 1768 Kathmandu was declared the largest of the three and the name was adopted as the capital of Nepal.
They all still exist though, and each has it's own Durbar Square; a public area outside the old palace.
They are all absolutely stunning examples of the architecture in Nepal at the time they were built, and they are all UNESCO World Heritage sites.
We planned a Winter photoshoot in a renovated traditional house inside the old city of Patan.
The exposed timber beams and door + window frames would be a cosy back drop for our new Winter pieces.
It was a little squashy for the photographer though.
And challenging to avoid getting motorbikes and blue tarps in the images!
We also took a couple of shots in the ancient Durbar Square, which we think turned out brilliantly.
We can't wait to show you all our new Winter collection - first drop Wednesday 25th February.
Until next time,
